UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Addressed by Terra Ecopreneurs

Through its dual focus on climate-smart agriculture and clean energy solutions, Terra Ecopreneurs' operations directly align with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). Particularly through our work with the TRANSFORM initiative supporting coffee and pepper Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in Karnataka, as well as industrial energy solutions, following SDGs are directly aligned with our business:

SDG 1: No Poverty – By integrating tech-based agronomic support and market access, the enterprise focuses on improving the livelihoods and unlocking the financial potential of thousands of tribal and marginal smallholder farmers.
SDG 5: Gender Equality – By agricultural initiatives actively target women's economic empowerment, with a stated goal that 25% of the farmers supported in their livelihood programs are women.
SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy – A major pillar of their business involves providing grid-tied, off-grid, and hybrid solar power systems, wind energy, and biomass/waste-to-energy solutions for commercial and residential applications.
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – By strengthening FPOs and removing market barriers, they help farmers negotiate fairer prices. On the industrial side, they improve operational efficiency and long-term business growth.
SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure – Developped critical post-harvest infrastructure for farmers (such as pulping and drying units) and provide smart automation, robotics, and energy-efficient HVAC systems for industrial clients.
SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities – Field interventions specifically focus on marginalized communities, including a targeted focus on Vulnerable Tribal Groups operating on less than one hectare of land.
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – Promoting sustainable farming, efficient resource utilization, and eco-friendly manufacturing practices that minimize waste and environmental impact.
SDG 13: Climate Action – The integration of climate-smart agricultural advice, soil testing, and carbon offset programs directly tackles greenhouse gas emissions and builds climate resilience.
SDG 15: Life on Land – Through regenerative agriculture, agroforestry (such as shade-grown coffee and spices), and better soil management, Terra works to protect and restore local ecosystems and biodiversity.
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – Collaborative model relies on strong partnerships with global stakeholders, specifically the TRANSFORM program (backed by UK International Development, Unilever, and EY), to scale their sustainable frameworks.
